a few bruises...that's all.

let's start with what happen on the farewell party, shall we? cause i realised i didn't write anything much about what we did at sentosa.

hmmm, i initially planned to meet some of the guys at 11.30am at harbour front mrt. and i figured that since she need to go school, i might as well send her to school, then take my own sweet time to head down to sentosa. i met her at her place, aorund 8am. she came along with her sister, who just needed to travel a stop down to her secondary school to practise choir. but i was quite taken aback as her sister didn't look like her one bit. i guess she had all the good genes, whereas her younger sister didn't get those nice ones. haha. yup, nothing much, send her to school, talked, and waited in school for her teacher to open up the room for her to start her assignment. that's it.

headed down to harbour front mrt, where i realised those people whom i thought were coming to meet me, was arriving at some later time. *shucks. : i wasted an hour doing nothing, looking at mac donald's big tv screen, playing the same stuff over and over again. until regina and weiling came. they needed to do the "memory book" thingy. girls.. always minute. eventually, i reached palawan beach at around 3 plus. by concidence, mr lee just arrived too, with a bag of balls. hehe, rugby ball, volleyball, soccer ball. and in a minute or so, some extra guys came too. TIME TO HAVE FUN! we totally thrashed the girls in captain's ball, even with mr lee's help. haha. we were just passing the ball around, confusing the girls, and the girls can't reach high enough to grab the ball. so yeah. until a point, when we were joined by more people, then the place was getting abit crowded. ugh.

luckily, got a volleyball court not in use at that time. yeah, just volleyed until 6 plus, before some crazy operation. we threw huiting(her birthday coming) into the water right when she was happily playing volleyball too. haha. we(around 8 guys) just went straight to her, grabbed her by the arms and legs and walked down to the water. even her own girls just laughed along, despite their futile attempts to ask us to stop. but the year ones are more evil. after we threw huiting into the water, the year 1s came rushing down and pushing all of us into the water. i almost lost my rudys! we took revenge and they paid a heavy price.... hahahaha. yeah. followed by some rugby playing.. nothing much.. had the passing down ritual thingy.

now on to what happen this weekend.

i went to Ipoh for a whitewater rafting adventure with some dive buddies. except that now, we weren't diving. we were on a rubber boat, rafting through rapids! the trip there was horrible, almost a 8 hour ride from singapore on coach. fortunately, the coach wasn't too bad otherwise i might have hated the trip. so, the rafting adventure was fun. rapids after rapids, and i fell twice into the water after the boat crashed into a big piecce of rock in the river. HEY! its normal to fall into the water okays. everyone else did along the 2 hour journey. and at some parts, we did bofy rafting, meaning just let yourself follow the current down while floating in the river, passing a few rapids. that was fun, but i knocked into a number of rocks on the way. ended up with a bruise on my elbow. hahaha. luckily not on my butt!

uh, after the rafting part, still on saturday, we went caving at some famous limestone and marble cave in Ipoh. initally, was quite boring, as it was just climbing stairs and looking at how some of the natural structures were formed, and the guide trying to tell us how it looked like some animals, or figures we see normally. but the second part was more fun. at some point, we walked off the main staircase and went into another smaller cave. all the light we had was coming from our torches. the first part was sliding down this steep slope. we gotta do it kind of slowly, otherwise risk twisting our ankles or breaking our legs. kinda funny how everyone did it, some slided down fast, some took their time, and i guess i was average, not very fast. later, we had to trek in WATER! yes, trek in knee deep water. a damn cool experience, like some movie scene where the people had to find their way out of this horrible caves, or like POSEIDON, rushing against time to escape from a sinking ship. haha. at some parts, the ceiling of the cave was so low that we had to almost crawl in the water(almost had to go underwater) to make it through to the other side. i hit my head twice because of the low ceiling. it hurts *ouch

that probably sums up my adventure in Ipoh over the weekend! haha. now its back to my studies.

oh yeah! friday was fun. you know why. haha.

don't tell you leh. hahaha. =)

that's it, vice-cap no more.

yesterday marked the end of my career as the vice-captain of the Nanyangjc dragonboat team. digging out memories from a year ago, when khairy(my senior) hanged the dog tag, with the words ""vice-captain" engraved on it, i recieving it was a great honour. and now, i have passed it on, as it was passed to me.

this so reminds me of the phrase that superman was telling his son in the latest superman flick. i can vaguely remember this part, where he mentioned, "you would see the world through my eyes, as i would see the world through yours." now, i have passed it to Yihe, and i hope he can really use his position of authority to do great things, much more than i have done over the last year.

so what lies ahead of me, now that i have crossed that stage of my live, i really wonder. how much my life will change? will it remain about the same it was? only time can tell. cliche it may sound, but its true.

bonn got me this book, containing quotes about determination, dreams, and realising your dreams. its inspirational, and i think i will want to bring the book everywhere i go. just in case, at anytime, i suddenly meet with a setback, maybe this book could shake me out of my misery and have me up and chasing my dreams again.

this was my paddle. m24 E. also known as the pink"e" paddle. also known as the 48(its length) paddle.

i somehow got attached to the paddle. but i think its going to be in good hands.

xuan sheng. time to let go.....

oh yeah. this light. my bedroom light. happen to have that "keep taking pictures" mood. and i thought this was not bad. illumination from a point in darkness.

this shows my timetable for june. messy, but effective. at least it helps me in allocating revision time and training time. got this habit of doing my time tables since sec 3... after i saw my sister do it too! HAHA. thanks jie.

yepp, more pictures will come...

1st swimming interval - burned out

today. i had that bit of excited feeling. all because i'm doing my 1st swimming intervals training! self-planned, self-excuted. haha =)

i had planned to use my HR meter underneath my zoot top at the pool to read my HR for each interval. hence, i packed both items into my bag. however, at the pool, i made a quick decision not to use it. too AA. i mean, it will be damn weird for a person to wear a HR meter(i've seen one b4, it ain't a normal sight). i have also never seen anyone wear a tri top to the pool, though i have wore before. but things are different. i'm already wearing a swim cap! yes, swim caps are fine, but hardly ever fine when you mix all of the above items together on one body. i would look as if i'm really going to race against time or do my PB at the pool.

yes, at the pool?! what the hell anyway.

i uploaded quite abit of pictures taken by my phone, G262. i'm just waiting for some time to post them up on this blog. i'm going to begin by uploading this few pictures first. i think those mean quite alot to me.

the scenic view on the top left was the last look i took at the location of our national school's, bedok reservoir. the place, where we beat our rivals Njc to the A division Mens Championship. and the picture to the left is it, the trophy plate.

the above picture reads the timings and position for our SDBF Mens Opens Championship. yes, we may have got last, but to us, it means alot. that shows we became the top 6 teams in Singapore. we overcame the odds whatever challenges or teams that were placed in our path.

i will always remember all these, throughout my life. =)

that's my gym training for today. targeted muscle groups were chest and biceps. =)

3 days to the farewell party at palawan beach! 3 days to get that figure! hahaha. call me a vainpot if you must.

school has been all right. i'm slowly returning to the study mood, attempting to do my normal distribution tutorial later.

" if X is a random variable, normally distributed with mean 5 and standard deviation 0.05, X ~ N(5, 0.05 square)....."

hahaha. yups.

i have been thinking for the past few minutes. i need to take it slowly now. if i rush in, i only end up hurting myself, getting my fingers burned. so, taking things easy now.

yes, xuan sheng, don't rush. take it easy between you and her. things i have to tell myself every now and then. i really do envy jun xiong, fuquan, jian hao. i really do. =

things to consider later: leg gym training + running intervals or swimming intervals tml.

checking out.

11/7 - swimming

today's the first day i embark on my self-training programme. ask me if i'm excited? actually, not really. didn't had the feeling that i'm beginning on my new life. i guess i'm still stuck in my old dragonboat-is-my-life kind of life. haha. seriously, though it has been like only 9 to 10 days since i stopped rowing, i kinda missed it already. the water, the resistence on the surface of the blade, the splashes on my face and sunglasses, the smooth recovery and stretching out, the nice catch, yet aggressive pull in the water. muscles feeling the pain, the burn. every stroke, every breath, every person on the boat, together.

" A perfect day for the perfect set "

i went to school, catching the bus. its a refreshing experience needless to say. however, it doesn't give me a homely feeling that i would feel everytime i catch the bus home. the passing scenery doesn't look the same during the morning traffic. indonesian maids walking the small kids to their priamry schools, then gossiping in their native language along the way with one another. secondary school kids with the Mp3s on, nodding their heads to the groove from those earphones. or even my fellow junior college students, blocking out all other earthly sounds except for those frequencies in the headphones, and being so oblivious to the surroundings.

day after day, this happens, and it becomes a trend, a pattern for all to follow and study. yet, this doesn't fade into non-existence after years, following technological advancements, unlike other patterns which change along with technology. why? its because we are students. there isn't a need to fully understand and make use of new technology to change our lives. we just need to embrace it, like if mp3 became some other device that can have the person holding it to be in another virtual reality, now, students would be using that. those on the bus, if it still exists, that is.

i reckon that i have quite a lot of stuff to say, and thats due to the fact i haven't been studying. collecting back my papers is what i do now, process the results. then i begin to study. I HOPE. haha. anyway, back to today. got back my maths (both papers), chemistry (all 3 papers), physics (paper 1 and 3) and econs (paper 1). so far, no failing grades, just not so spectacular ones. A for maths, C for chemistry. thats it.

i had a migrane today before i had my lunch. power of bak chor mee cured it. haha. speech's done for friday's prize presentation/ headed for the pool.

43 minutes 22 seconds of swimming. 40 laps. not bad. tml's gym training, targetting the biceps, chest, shoulders and ABS. i'm running off now(no not really running). back in a jiffy. =)
